BRUNO MITAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND:
As you are aware, we lost a great friend and colleague this past summer to pancreatic cancer. Even though Bruno Mital’s life was cut way too short, he had the ability to connect with so many people in all walks of life.
Bruno always had a moment for a kind word or deed for all (including strangers), and he was there for so many people when they needed help. With this in mind, Dawson College has established an education fund in Bruno’s memory’s so his legacy can live on. The Bruno Mital Education Fund (B Positive) will take many forms as it grows, but an inaugural scholarship will be presented at the Convocation ceremony in June.
We are hoping to award a deserving graduate the first Bruno Mital B Positive Humanitarian Scholarship in the amount of $1000. This award is designed to recognize a graduating student from Dawson College who has gone above and beyond to help their community, their fellow students, or the Dawson community, without seeking recognition. We feel that this truly represents what Bruno, our humble hero, believed in life with his eternally positive outlook.
To this end, we need your help. At this time, the fund has topped $8,000. Our goal is to grow the fund to $20,000.00 by December 7, 2014, on what would have been Bruno’s 50th birthday. We would encourage you to forward this message to all of your contacts so that they may get involved in the campaign as well.
There are several ways to contribute:
- You can go to Canada Helps and click on this link: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/dawson-college/bruno-mital-b-positive/
- You will receive an instant tax receipt for any amount over $20.
- You can send a cheque to Dawson College (made out to Dawson College, indicate Bruno Mital Fund in memo line), mail or drop off at 3040 Sherbrooke St. West, 4A.1, Westmount (QC), H3Z 1A4.
We would like you to join us on December 7th at Hurley’s pub (1225 Crescent, Montreal, 5-7) to raise a glass to our friend Bruno and to announce the amount raised for this scholarship.
Thank you for taking the time to help this campaign.
